Military Forces Free 13 Captives and Disrupt Insurgent Activities in Zamfara

Troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued 13 kidnapping victims and seized equipment during strategic missions in Anka and Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State.

Soldiers operating under the Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully liberated 13 individuals from captivity across Anka and Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State. According to Lieutenant-Colonel Aliyu Danja, the military spokesperson, these intelligence-driven missions also prevented militant attacks and resulted in the seizure of two vehicles.

In Bagega, troops intercepted armed fighters moving toward Tungan Kudaduku. Utilizing surveillance data, the soldiers overwhelmed the militants with superior tactical strength, causing the attackers to retreat. A subsequent sweep of the area revealed a hidden encampment where five of the captives were found and secured.

A simultaneous engagement occurred in Unguwan Rogo, located in Kaura Namoda. Following reports of militant activity, troops engaged in an intense firefight that led to the rescue of eight additional victims and the abandonment of the militants’ vehicles. All 13 survivors have been turned over to civil authorities for medical and support services. The military remains focused on conducting active patrols to destabilize criminal networks throughout the North-West region.
