Soldiers from Operation HADIN KAI launched a sweep of suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP strongholds in the Biu area of Borno State. This mission was a direct response to a recent assault on the Miringa community.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the 135 Special Forces Battalion initiated the mission early on July 10. The tactical unit consisted of four combat teams working in partnership with 25 local hunters from the Buratai and Kurnari regions. The group utilized three gun trucks, a tactical vehicle, and 15 motorcycles to navigate the terrain.
The force patrolled the Mangari, Bulazarma, and Dora sectors, which are suspected to be primary transit routes for militants escaping after violent raids. During the cordon-and-search phase, the troops aimed to locate hidden weapon caches and logistics stores used by the fighters. While the soldiers did not encounter the insurgents directly, they located and razed several makeshift structures used by Boko Haram and ISWAP members as staging areas and temporary shelters.
