Leeds United have reached a financial agreement worth £34.1m to acquire defender Tarik Muharemovic from Italian side Sassuolo. The 23-year-old Bosnian international, who has recorded 69 senior appearances across Austria and Italy, has yet to finalize personal terms or undergo a medical examination. His potential arrival at Elland Road remains subject to interest from other Premier League teams.
Should the deal proceed, Muharemovic would become manager Daniel Farke’s second summer acquisition following the addition of Harry Wilson. He is intended to fill the vacancy created by Pascal Struijk’s £20m transfer to Brighton earlier this summer. The defender previously participated in three World Cup matches, including a notable encounter against the United States.
Muharemovic started his professional journey in 2021 with Wolfsberger before moving to Juventus. Although he did not debut for the senior team at Juventus, a successful loan at Sassuolo led to a permanent move in 2025. It is understood that Juventus retains a sell-on clause entitling them to half of the transfer fee received by Sassuolo.
