Brazilian legend Romario has declared France the world’s best football team while praising Brazil’s recent improvements in the 2026 World Cup.

Iconic Brazilian striker Romario has identified the current top football squad globally during the ongoing FIFA World Cup. In an interview with RMC Sport, the 60-year-old sports personality argued that France currently surpasses all other nations, including his native Brazil.

Despite this assessment, Romario expressed satisfaction with Brazil’s progress in the tournament. Reflecting on his personal history, he noted his joy in returning to the United States three decades after his 1994 World Cup participation. He emphasized that the Brazilian squad has demonstrated significant development.

Romario highlighted the French side’s caliber, stating that their gameplay left a strong impression on him, solidifying his belief in their superior status. Both the French and Brazilian national teams have successfully advanced to the Round of 32 in the competition.
