The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has rolled out a new toll-free emergency short-code, 3367, to boost traffic management and improve public engagement. This initiative replaces older contact methods with a more modern, accessible system for all Lagos residents.
Subscribers on the MTN, Glo, and 9mobile networks can call the number at no cost. The service allows the public to report urgent road issues like accidents, stalled tankers, broken-down vehicles, and other traffic obstructions that need immediate attention.
The platform also serves as a feedback channel for residents to share information regarding the conduct of LASTMA personnel, which the agency hopes will improve transparency and accountability. To ensure broad accessibility, operators are available to assist callers in English, Yoruba, and Pidgin.
General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki stated that the move is part of the agency’s goal to use digital innovation to solve complex transportation challenges in a growing megacity. He emphasized that all reports will be handled with professionalism and confidentiality, noting that the hotline is a critical tool for building a more responsive and efficient transport network across the state.
