Kwankwasiyya Movement Demands Full Disclosure from Nigerian Government Regarding PFIPC Scandal

The Kwankwasiyya Movement is calling for total transparency from the Nigerian government regarding the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council after reports of a N1 billion budget allocation.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has formally urged the Nigerian Presidency to clarify the ongoing controversy involving the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). According to the group, this situation has transcended the actions of a single person and now represents a significant challenge to governmental accountability. In a statement released on Saturday by spokesperson Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the group expressed alarm over the implications for national transparency.

Although the Presidency has denied the existence of the PFIPC and disavowed any representatives associated with it, reports indicate that over N1 billion was earmarked for a similarly named entity within the 2026 Appropriation Act. The movement questions how such an allocation could appear in the national budget if the council is nonexistent. They are demanding to know which officials authorized the funding, how documentation was processed, and whether any public funds were disbursed.

The statement emphasizes that this is not a partisan political issue but a fundamental matter of public trust. The Kwankwasiyya Movement reminded President Bola Tinubu of his administration’s commitments to institutional reform and transparency. They warned that avoiding these questions or providing incomplete answers will erode public confidence and potentially harm Nigeria’s reputation among international investors who prioritize institutional credibility.

Ultimately, the movement is calling for a full public report detailing the origins of the budgetary provision and the administrative failures that allowed this to occur. Additionally, they have requested that the National Assembly and anti-corruption agencies launch a thorough, independent investigation into the affair, asserting that all public funds must be fully accounted for to preserve the integrity of the nation’s democracy.
