Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress, has singled out three government bodies as the main drivers of systemic graft within Nigeria. During a discussion with Lucky Udu, Sowore claimed the Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, and the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation facilitate widespread corruption.
Sowore alleged that these departments engage in fraudulent practices such as double payments. He promised that a future administration under his leadership would utilize artificial intelligence to identify fiscal irregularities, effectively automating oversight and eliminating the need for these specific offices. By implementing advanced computing, blockchain, and decentralized banking systems, he intends to modernize Nigerian governance. He further suggested that the rise of digital currency could eventually render traditional central banking models obsolete.
