Katsina Police Arrest Ward Head Suspected of Being Bandits’ Informant

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old ward head, Usamatu Adamu, from Runka village in the Safana Local Government Area, for allegedly providing information to bandits.

The command’s spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq, presented the suspect on Tuesday alongside two accomplices: Rabe Sada, alias BBC, aged 62, and Nasiru Sha’aibu, aged 48, both from Runka village.

Preliminary investigations indicated Adamu’s involvement in a criminal conspiracy and the kidnapping of four individuals—Abdulkarim, Malam Sakoa, Malam Sirajo, and Ali—also from Runka village.

The suspect, who is currently residing in Sabon Gida village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was tracked and arrested based on credible intelligence on October 3, 2024.

According to the Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Adamu was apprehended following a thorough investigation linking him to multiple kidnapping incidents in Runka village.

During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement and named his accomplices, Rabe Sada and Nasiru Sha’aibu, stating that they provided information to a notorious bandit kingpin named Umar, who is known to operate in Runka forest, Safana LGA. The investigation is ongoing.
