Law enforcement officers in Yobe State have taken three individuals into custody for allegedly vandalizing public property. During the operation, police seized stolen power cables along with a tricycle used to transport the goods.
SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the police spokesperson, released the details in Damaturu on Thursday. The Gashua Area Command initiated the arrests following reports from informants.
The first suspect, 27-year-old Abubakar Idris, was captured on July 23, 2026, while carrying two bundles of power cables. Subsequent questioning resulted in the capture of 25-year-old Sumaila Suleiman and 26-year-old Ibrahim Ado.
Authorities also impounded a tricycle, registered as 497 DPH, and an unregistered motorcycle connected to the illicit activity. Police continue to search for remaining members of the criminal network while verifying the origin of the seized property.
