The Kaduna State government has officially acknowledged the apprehension and subsequent arraignment of 24 individuals by local police regarding the fatal mob attack on a woman in Maraban Jos. State officials framed this legal action as a vital move toward upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice is served.
Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, praised the Kaduna State Police Command for their efficient investigation and commitment to due process. He emphasized that democratic societies depend on the rule of law, noting that no suspicion or allegation can ever justify extrajudicial killing.
The government highlighted the incident as a grim warning about the dangers of lawlessness. Commissioner Maiyaki reiterated that the administration of Governor Uba Sani holds a zero-tolerance policy regarding vigilantism. He urged the public to report crimes to the authorities rather than resorting to mob violence.
Police investigations are currently expanding, with authorities identifying over 100 additional suspects who may be involved in the crime. The government has pledged to continue supporting security and judicial efforts to hold all perpetrators accountable, reinforcing that they will remain steadfast in protecting the rights and safety of every citizen.
