Jennifer Lopez kicked off the American Music Awards with a sizzling kiss that quickly became the talk of the event.
The superstar and host took the stage on Monday night, May 26, performing a mashup of 23 of this year’s biggest hits, including Kendrick Lamar’s “Squabble Up,” Doechii’s “Denial Is a River,” and Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go.”
Midway through the performance, J.Lo shared a kiss with a male backup dancer, then immediately followed it by kissing a female dancer.

After the sultry kiss-off, Lopez addressed the crowd, saying, “I had to kick things off by turning it up to the biggest songs of the year and dancing my heart out for all of you.”
The kiss sparked online debate, with some viewers criticizing the mother-of-two.
Lopez, who finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck earlier in January 2025, appeared unfazed by the criticism, expressing her joy in performing for the audience and celebrating her freedom and happiness .
