A recent operation conducted by the Nigerian Army has resulted in a significant victory against insurgents near Gummi, Zamfara State. Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, acting deputy director of Army Public Relations for 8 Division and Operation FANSAN YAMMA, reported that soldiers successfully neutralized numerous militants at Dutsen Gidan Hill, located 17 kilometers from the town.
During the mission, military forces seized dozens of motorcycles previously utilized by criminal groups to stage attacks on local communities. These vehicles were subsequently moved to the military headquarters using an Armoured Personnel Carrier.
Upon returning to their base, the troops were greeted by a large assembly of locals who gathered to thank the soldiers for their resilience and service. Officials noted that this warm reception signifies a positive shift in public trust toward security forces in the North-West region. The state government praised the mission as a vital step in restoring regional order. Meanwhile, the military command has pledged to maintain its current offensive and requested that citizens continue to share actionable intelligence to aid future efforts.
