Governor Mutfwang Inaugurates Commissioners with Mandate for Transparency

Governor Caleb Mutfwang has inaugurated two returning commissioners in Plateau State, urging them to prioritize accountability and public service within his administration’s development agenda.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has officially sworn in two commissioners, Bashir Lawandi Datti and Ephraim Usman Gar, following their successful vetting by the State House of Assembly. The ceremony took place at the Government House in Jos, where Deputy Governor Josephine Chundung Piyo performed the induction rites on the governor’s behalf.

During the event, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the necessity for the new officials to lead with honesty and hard work. He tasked them with upholding the principles of his administration’s “Time Is Now” agenda, which prioritizes accountable governance, sustainable progress, and inclusive development. The governor highlighted the importance of improving public service in key areas such as energy, water resources, and the management of traditional institutions.

Both commissioners are familiar faces in the state cabinet, having returned to their posts after resigning to participate in previous elections. In their acceptance speeches, Datti and Gar thanked the governor for the opportunity and promised to perform their duties with professionalism and loyalty to the residents of Plateau State.
