Governor Abiodun Praises IGP Disu and Joint Police Force for Success of Operation Kosaye

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has commended IGP Olatunji Disu and the joint police force for the effectiveness of Operation Kosaye in curbing criminal activities along the Ogun-Lagos corridor.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has lauded Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu for the launch of Operation Kosaye, a joint security venture between Ogun and Lagos states. The governor labeled the initiative as a strategic and intelligence-focused move that has successfully boosted safety across both regions.

Through a statement released by his aide Kayode Akinmade, Abiodun noted that the operation has yielded impressive results. These include the clearing of criminal hideouts in forests along the border, the neutralisation of armed attackers, the apprehension of suspects, and the safe rescue of several kidnapping victims. The governor emphasized that these actions have rebuilt the public’s trust in the Nigeria Police Force.

By launching a persistent offensive, the joint security team has turned the border area into an inhospitable zone for violent offenders who previously used the shared geography to hide. Governor Abiodun reiterated his pledge to keep funding security logistics, modern technology, and operational resources to ensure the state remains protected.

The governor also extended his gratitude to the police commissioners in Ogun and Lagos, Bode Ojajuni and Tijani Fatai, alongside the field officers, for their bravery and professional conduct. He championed the success of this collaboration as a model for other states, suggesting that breaking down jurisdictional barriers is essential for defeating organized crime. Moving forward, the administration remains dedicated to prioritizing safety for all residents and investors in Ogun State.
