Robinson Ewor, who previously served as the Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, recently stated that Governor Sim Fubara is the primary source of the state’s issues, rather than FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Ewor argued that public opinion was misled at the onset of the power struggle between the two leaders.
The dispute regarding political leadership in Rivers State resulted in the governor being suspended for half a year. Although President Bola Tinubu and other influential figures mediated a temporary peace, Fubara faced setbacks during the APC primary elections. Recently, the governor declared that the state would adopt the Rainbow Coalition, an initiative associated with Wike.
During a broadcast on Arise Television, Ewor clarified that his current perspective differs significantly from his previous views. He noted that while it was once widely believed that Wike was obstructing the governor’s duties, the reality is that Fubara failed to maintain transparency with the residents of Rivers State. Ewor acknowledged that he and other supporters have revised their understanding of the situation, concluding that Wike was not responsible for the governor’s governance difficulties.
