Ekiti Election: Babafemi Ojudu Raises Alarm Over Voter Disenfranchisement Risks

Former presidential aide Babafemi Ojudu has criticized INEC over equipment failures in Ekiti, warning that technical delays at polling units threaten to disenfranchise many voters.

Babafemi Ojudu, a former aide to the president, has expressed concern that voters in the Ekiti State governorship election face the possibility of being blocked from casting their ballots. The issue stems from persistent technical problems with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) equipment.

Ojudu reported that despite arriving as the inaugural voter at his station, he remained unaccredited half an hour later because the machinery failed to process his information. He criticized the delay as intolerable, warning that if it takes thirty minutes to handle one person, the system will inevitably fail to accommodate the hundreds of others waiting in line. He urged INEC to resolve these malfunctions urgently to prevent widespread disenfranchisement and to preserve public trust in the electoral process.
