Newly appointed Edo State Commissioner of Police, Patrick Daor, has promised to implement an accessible policing model aimed at reducing crime and improving public relations. Taking over from Monday Agbonika, who has been promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 5, Daor emphasized that his primary goal is to ensure all officers treat residents with professional courtesy.
Daor intends to build upon the progress made by his predecessor by refining current strategies. He encouraged the public to participate in community safety efforts, noting that law enforcement is a collective responsibility. He stated that his office would maintain an open-door policy, inviting residents to report security concerns for swift and professional resolution.
Furthermore, the commissioner highlighted his commitment to creating a highly mobile force that can react quickly to security threats across the region. At the handover ceremony, Agbonika praised the support he received from the state government, religious leaders, and police staff, noting a successful decline in criminal activity during his time in the role.
