Young man murdered by armed attackers in Plateau State

A 30-year-old resident of Dong in Plateau State was dragged from his home and killed by gunmen in an unprovoked attack that has left the local community fearful.

A 30-year-old man named Khalid Wahid was killed by unidentified gunmen who broke into his home in the Dong community, located in the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. The assault took place at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the victim’s uncle, Busari Kamal, the assailants forced their way into the house, pulled Khalid outside, and fatally wounded him before escaping. Kamal noted that no items were stolen from the residence, which indicates the attackers were solely focused on the victim. The body was discovered shortly after the perpetrators fled the area.

The motivation for the attack remains unclear, and the event has sparked significant distress and safety concerns among local residents. Khalid has since been laid to rest following Islamic burial traditions. Local security officials have not yet provided a statement regarding the incident.
