The Edo State branch of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a directive to Kennedy Odion, its former chairman, demanding that he stop representing the party or utilizing its official assets. State chairman Tony Alile released a statement on Sunday clarifying that Odion lacks the legal standing to speak for the organization.
Alile explained that Odion was officially removed from the ADC following disciplinary actions finalized at the national convention in Abuja on April 14, 2026. Furthermore, the term of the state executive committee that Odion previously belonged to concluded on May 19, 2026. Consequently, the party asserts that he is neither a member nor a representative.
Despite these findings, the party leadership claims Odion persists in convening meetings and issuing public declarations under the ADC banner. Alile characterized these behaviors as deceptive and unauthorized. He noted that prior instances of the improper use of party materials are currently being addressed via official procedures. While the ADC emphasizes its focus on maintaining a united front, Odion has rejected the allegations, describing the party’s position as a form of self-deception.
