Senator Ndume Urges President Tinubu to Address Nigerians Personally

Senator Ali Ndume has advised President Bola Tinubu to communicate directly with citizens about national challenges, while also praising the administration’s recent efforts to combat banditry through intensified military operations.

Senator Ali Ndume, the former Senate Leader, has encouraged President Bola Tinubu to engage directly with the public regarding pressing national concerns. Rather than depending on intermediaries or spokespersons, Ndume believes the President should personally explain his administration’s position on economic hardships and security issues.

Speaking after a private meeting at the Presidential Villa, the Borno South representative shared that the President expressed interest in this suggestion. Ndume emphasized that citizens feel more connected when their leader communicates with them directly.

Regarding the fight against insecurity, the senator noted that security agencies have increased operations against bandits in the North-West and North-East. He highlighted that recent military actions have resulted in the neutralization of key criminal leaders and the surrender of several commanders. Ndume remains hopeful that maintaining this military intensity will eventually lead to the restoration of peace.

Ndume also observed the President’s commitment to these issues, noting that his own meeting was briefly delayed because the President was engaged in high-level talks with service chiefs. He interpreted this prioritization as a positive indicator that the administration is taking the security crisis seriously.
