DSS Takes Former Minister Uche Nnaji into Custody at Enugu Airport

Department of State Services agents arrested former Minister Uche Nnaji at Enugu airport regarding allegations of certificate forgery involving the ICPC.

Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Science and Technology, was detained by Department of State Services agents this Wednesday. The arrest occurred at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu while he was arranging to depart for Abuja on a private aircraft.

Insiders indicate the apprehension was prompted by a request from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. The agency is looking into claims regarding the falsification of academic credentials by Nnaji, who left his ministerial position last October amid notable controversy.

Following his detention, the former official was transferred to the commission for continued inquiries. Reports suggest that the anti-graft body had issued multiple summons to Nnaji regarding his tenure at the ministry. Authorities requested backup from the secret police after he reportedly ignored those prior requests to appear.
