DSS Secures Stolen Relief Supplies in Taraba Raid

DSS agents raided a private warehouse in Jalingo, Taraba State, seizing relief supplies intended for disaster victims and arresting four suspects involved in the potential diversion of government aid.

Agents from the Department of State Services (DSS) conducted a search of a private storage facility in the Sintali area of Jalingo, Taraba State, resulting in the seizure of relief goods meant for disaster victims and the detention of four individuals. Security analyst Zagazola Makama announced the news on X, noting that the operation was prompted by locals who observed unauthorized transport of government supplies at night.

Authorities recovered food and supplies valued at millions of naira, which were reportedly provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre for the Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA). Among those detained were the facility owner and three individuals involved in the rice trade. The seized items were moved to the local DSS headquarters for ongoing analysis.

Officials are currently working to verify if these supplies were illicitly removed from official channels or if the storage was sanctioned. Neither TSEMA nor the DSS has released an official statement regarding the situation as of yet.
