Delta State Civil Service Undergoes EFCC Audit

The EFCC has launched an audit of payroll and personnel records within the Delta State civil service to improve data accuracy and eliminate irregularities.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched an official review of personnel and payroll data within the Delta State civil service. This operation, centered in Asaba, was confirmed on Monday by the State Head of Service, Dr. Mininim Oseji, during events for the 2026 Civil Service Week.

Dr. Oseji explained that the agency is conducting this audit as part of a broader national effort to inspect nominal rolls and payroll systems. The state government was notified in advance, and EFCC personnel are currently screening various offices, beginning with the Office of the Head of Service. Oseji affirmed the agency’s legal authority for the task and reported no issues or complaints thus far.

Alongside this audit, the Head of Service encouraged staff to adhere to the revised dress code and emphasized the need for ongoing training to aid the state’s digital transformation. She also maintained that the selection process for Permanent Secretaries remains open and fair. The EFCC’s involvement aligns with the state’s current push to remove ghost workers, rectify payroll inaccuracies, and address cases involving absentee employees or staff exceeding retirement age.
