African Democratic Congress chieftain Dele Momodu has cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State regarding the upcoming governorship election. Momodu asserts that President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress intend to treat the Osun contest as a practice run for their strategy ahead of the January 2027 presidential race.
In a message shared on X, Momodu advised the governor against anticipating a transparent or fair process from the Independent National Electoral Commission. He claims the commission remains under the direct influence of the President. Momodu alleges that the ruling party has instructed its local operatives to secure victory in Osun through any required measures, regardless of the consequences.
Urging Governor Adeleke to remain steadfast and rely on his faith, Momodu expressed support for the governor’s recent administrative achievements. He noted that the APC lacks a substantial record of service to present to voters, suggesting their reliance on aggressive tactics to retain political power.
