Cross River IPAC Targets 2.5 Million Votes for 2027 General Elections

Cross River’s IPAC chapter is rallying for 2.5 million votes in the 2027 elections through a comprehensive, state-wide voter registration mobilization campaign.

The Cross River State branch of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has committed to securing at least 2.5 million votes for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This goal is supported by an active voter registration drive currently taking place across all 18 local government areas of the state.

Engr. Effiom Edet, the State IPAC Chairman, shared this initiative on Saturday in Calabar. He emphasized that the target is realistic due to collaborative efforts between political parties, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), civil society groups, traditional leaders, and religious organizations.

Edet noted that the Continuous Voter Registration exercise is a crucial chance for residents to participate in the democratic process. He stressed that voter registration serves as the foundation for democratic engagement, urging stakeholders to increase grassroots mobilization. According to Edet, obtaining a Permanent Voter’s Card is essential for citizens to influence the future of Cross River State effectively.

The chairman praised INEC for its commitment to the registration process, stating that progress requires cooperation among all groups. He reaffirmed that IPAC remains dedicated to promoting peaceful politics, issue-oriented campaigning, and voter education as the state prepares for the 2027 elections.
