Joan Laporta has been re-elected as the president of FC Barcelona, securing a fresh five-year term until 2031. In the election held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, Laporta achieved a commanding victory with 32,934 votes (approximately 68% of the total), comfortably defeating his sole challenger, Víctor Font, who received 14,385 votes (roughly 30%).
The club reported that 48,480 of the nearly 114,000 eligible members (socios) participated in the vote, representing a turnout of 42.34%.
The election took place alongside a dominant 5-2 La Liga victory over Sevilla at the Spotify Camp Nou. The match featured a hat-trick from Raphinha and the highly anticipated return of midfielder Gavi following a long-term injury.
Current manager Hansi Flick and members of the first-team squad, including Pedri, Dani Olmo, and Lamine Yamal, were among those seen casting their ballots at the stadium throughout the day.
“I won’t tell you who [I will vote for] because it’s a secret,” Flick said in a news conference shortly before voting. “It’s a special day. I saw it on the television in my office in the stadium, the election going on, it’s special. I think also everyone is happy, it was a great day.”
