Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential media aide and member of the African Democratic Congress, recently stated that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have cause for concern regarding the registration status of the Nigerian Democratic Congress. This follows a decision by the Federal High Court in Lokoja, presided over by Justice Isah Dashen, to overturn a previous ruling that had ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to register the party.
The court’s decision was prompted by a request from the Peace Movement Party, which argued that it was excluded from the original proceedings. Justice Dashen emphasized the necessity of including all affected parties in such legal matters before rendering a final judgment. Consequently, Ahmad remarked on social media that Obi and Kwankwaso currently lack a legally sanctioned political platform for the upcoming electoral cycle.
