The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun State views President Bola Tinubu’s order for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to remove the freeze on the state government’s bank accounts as a commitment to the rule of law and democratic standards. According to the council’s caretaker committee chairman, Odesola Oluseye Titus, this action bolsters trust in the nation’s democratic structures.
Speaking on Friday in Osogbo, Odesola lauded the President for his stance on the professional independence of law enforcement. He suggested that other institutions, such as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Police, and the military, should use this as a model for performing their constitutional duties.
With the Osun governorship election approaching on August 15, 2026, the council emphasized that all agencies involved must act impartially. Odesola urged officials to operate without bias to ensure the integrity of the electoral process. The council also called upon political stakeholders to adhere to regulations and encouraged citizens to participate in the upcoming vote, asserting that the electoral process must genuinely reflect the public’s will.
