Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has officially designated several newly finished government structures after three previous governors to honor their service to the state. The individuals recognized include Chief Ayodele Fayose, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and Engr. Segun Oni.
Yinka Oyebode, the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, confirmed the news in a Tuesday statement. The facilities dedicated to Fayemi and Fayose are slated for unveiling on July 31 and August 3, 2026, respectively. The building bearing the name of Segun Oni is nearly finished, with an opening ceremony planned for October.
These former governors will serve as special guests to inaugurate the buildings dedicated to them. This move follows a similar action in October 2024, when Governor Oyebanji renamed the renovated Presidential Lodge in honor of the state’s inaugural civilian governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo.
These upcoming events signal a new series of project unveilings as the Oyebanji administration wraps up its current term. The government highlighted that this effort aligns with its Shared Prosperity Agenda, demonstrating a firm dedication to finalizing infrastructure for the benefit of the public.
