Babcock University Labels Carter Efe’s Certificate Fraudulent

Babcock University has dismissed a viral certificate awarded to Carter Efe as a forgery, noting that the school does not recognize the degree classification mentioned in the document.

Babcock University has officially declared that a viral academic document attributed to the institution is a forgery. In a formal statement released on June 29, 2026, the school clarified that it played no part in issuing an honorary certificate to Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, also known as Carter Efe.

The document in question, which claims to honor Efe for reaching a “First Class Upper” status via the “Babcock University Biochemistry Computer Club,” is unauthorized. The university emphasized that it does not issue honorary certificates for undergraduate academic achievements. Furthermore, the institution noted that it does not use the terminology “First Class Upper,” clarifying that the only official designation recognized by the school is “First Class Honours.”

The university warned that all legitimate academic records, including degree certificates and transcripts, are managed exclusively through the Office of the Registrar. Officials advised employers and the public to treat any outside documents as illegitimate. Those caught manufacturing or utilizing such fake records may face criminal investigation and prosecution for fraud. The school encourages all interested parties to verify credentials directly through the Registrar to ensure authenticity.
