Paul Ibe, a media advisor to Atiku Abubakar, is pushing the presidency to clarify serious allegations involving Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu. These demands follow claims made by Adeniyi Matthew, who identifies as the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), suggesting Gbajabiamila accepted bribes for political appointments.
While the presidency, represented by Bayo Onanuga, dismissed the claims as baseless and stated that the PFIPC does not exist within the government, Ibe argues that the official denial ignores critical inconsistencies. Specifically, Ibe is demanding to know how the PFIPC was granted N1.3 billion in the 2026 budget if the agency is truly unrecognized.
In a public statement, Ibe questioned the transparency of the administration, asking how an allegedly fraudulent organization could secure space within the Federal Secretariat. He also reiterated the need for a direct confirmation regarding whether Gbajabiamila received a N400 million payment from Matthew. The presidency maintains that these allegations are part of a broader attempt to smear the administration.
