Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff, has urged the Nigerian Air Force to prioritize safety and operational professionalism to effectively combat terrorism across the country.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, emphasized that the Nigerian Air Force must uphold rigorous professional standards and maintain effective air power to successfully eradicate terrorism nationwide. He delivered these remarks on Tuesday during the 2026 inaugural meeting of the Nigerian Air Force Safety Review Board held in Abuja.

Aneke noted that the board meeting serves a function greater than simple data review. The objective is to identify systemic flaws and create functional strategies to mitigate future operational accidents. The forum provides a platform to evaluate safety metrics, address new risks, and refine strategic safety awareness throughout all air force operations.

The Chief of the Air Staff stressed that operational triumph is rooted in integrating safety into every phase of planning and execution. Furthermore, he reminded personnel that preserving equipment, aircraft, and staff requires unwavering commitment to established safety protocols.
