Arsenal Weighs Potential Move for Bayer Leverkusen Defender Jarell Quansah

Arsenal has begun exploratory talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarell Quansah as they continue negotiations for Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa.

Arsenal has initiated preliminary discussions regarding the acquisition of Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah. Sources indicate that while talks are in the early stages, a transfer for the 23-year-old is considered a viable possibility.

The Gunners are concurrently negotiating for Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa, though a significant gap exists in their valuations. Villa is seeking approximately £60m, whereas Arsenal’s assessment remains near £40m. Quansah, who can operate in both central and right-back positions, aligns with the tactical versatility the club seeks.

Questions persist regarding whether the inquiry into Quansah is a strategic maneuver to pressure Aston Villa regarding Konsa. Notably, Quansah’s former club, Liverpool, retains a contractual right to match any incoming bids for the player.

During this summer’s World Cup, Quansah featured for England, participating in three matches. His tournament was hindered by a red card against Mexico, which resulted in him missing the quarter-final victory over Norway and the semi-final loss to Argentina. The defender recorded five goals across 44 appearances for Leverkusen last season.
