Former Osun State Governor and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has rejected claims that his party or its candidate, Najeem Folasayo Salaam, plan to quit the upcoming gubernatorial election. Speaking at a birthday rally for Salaam in Ejigbo, Aregbesola labeled rumors of a political alliance with other parties as baseless.
He emphasized that the ADC is committed to the race, noting that the party possesses a strong foundation based on progressive values. Aregbesola stated that the organization is well-positioned to succeed and has no intention of forming coalitions with competing political factions. He further lauded Salaam as a person of high integrity and character, suggesting that his leadership would help restore democratic values in the state.
Addressing his supporters at the event, Salaam expressed gratitude for their continued loyalty. He reiterated his dedication to his campaign platform, promising to provide inclusive and effective governance if he wins the election.
