President Tinubu Convenes Security Leaders Amid Rising National Instability

President Tinubu held an urgent meeting with top security chiefs in Abuja to discuss the country’s rising insecurity following a successful military operation against terrorists.

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu hosted a private summit with top security officials at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to address the deteriorating state of national safety. The session functioned as a thorough assessment of current threats across various operational zones.

Key participants included National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa. Also present were Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Defence Intelligence Lieutenant General Emmanuel Undiandeye, and other high-ranking defense and intelligence officials, such as DSS Director-General Adeola Ajayi and Inspector-General of Police Olatunde Disu.

This discussion follows a significant military engagement two days prior. Troops from Operation FANSAN YAMMA and the Joint Task Force (North West) thwarted a large-scale terrorist mobilization in Zamfara and Katsina states. During the July 7 mission, Nigerian Air Force jets neutralized a convoy of 300 armed militants who were traveling on motorcycles toward Gummi.
