The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially declared its support for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential race. Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, clarified that the omission of a presidential contender from their list on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal does not indicate a breach of electoral rules.
Opara explained that the party leadership opted to endorse President Tinubu following thorough internal discussions. This decision was ratified by the National Executive Committee, which determined that backing the president’s second term aligns with the nation’s best interests. APGA continues to engage fully in the broader electoral process despite its decision to forgo presenting its own presidential nominee. The party has finalized and successfully uploaded its list of candidates for both state and national legislative positions to the INEC platform.
