APC support group seeks 24 million elderly votes for Tinubu 2027 bid

Renewed Hope for the Elderly is launching a national campaign to mobilize 24 million senior votes for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election.

A political organization titled Renewed Hope for the Elderly has initiated a national drive to garner 24 million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election effort. By highlighting the government’s commitment to senior citizens, the group hopes to align this demographic with the administration’s policy goals.

During the movement’s Abuja launch, Director-General Dr. Bode Olaonipekun emphasized that the project aims to improve the social status and political involvement of older Nigerians. He noted that for years, this population segment has faced systemic neglect, poor medical access, and financial instability after leaving the workforce.

Olaonipekun stated that prioritizing the elderly is essential for national integrity. He lauded current government efforts, specifically those bolstering the National Senior Citizens Centre, and expressed optimism regarding impending improvements in pension management and health services. Furthermore, the group is advocating for expanded geriatric care, dedicated support hubs, and increased digital training for retirees.

The organization also recognized the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her efforts in promoting sustainable farming and gardening among older adults. These programs are viewed as vital tools for fostering physical health and food security for the nation’s ageing population.
