Rufai Oseni Criticizes Osun Gubernatorial Candidates Following Town Hall Debate

Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni expressed disappointment after the Osun governorship debate, noting a lack of clear vision from most candidates except for the PRP representative.

Arise Television personality Rufai Oseni has voiced disappointment regarding the performance of governorship hopefuls during Tuesday’s town hall meeting in Osun State. Speaking on Wednesday, Oseni observed a noticeable shortage of innovative concepts and long-term planning among the participants, which included sitting Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Oseni remarked that the presentations were generally uninspired across the board. While Governor Adeleke focused on defending his current administration and highlighting infrastructure projects like the 350-kilometre road construction, Oseni felt these efforts lacked a cohesive, forward-looking vision. Instead, he noted that the debate was characterized largely by personal exchanges and defensive rhetoric.

The journalist acknowledged one exception: the candidate representing the Peoples Redemption Party. Oseni noted that this candidate, who is a medical professional, offered a concrete and well-reasoned strategy for improving the local healthcare system. The debate was held in anticipation of the upcoming election, which is set to occur on August 15, 2026.
