Amber Davies confronts theatre attendee for recording during Legally Blonde

Amber Davies, playing the lead in Legally Blonde, successfully called for the removal of an audience member who was recording her performance from the front row at a Dublin theatre.

Amber Davies, currently starring as Elle Woods in the touring production of Legally Blonde The Musical, recently took action against a spectator who was recording the performance from the front row. The former Love Island contestant shared a message on Instagram Stories during the interval of a show at Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, explaining that she had requested staff to remove the individual for the remainder of the evening.

Davies expressed frustration, noting that the woman had been filming throughout the entire first act, which proved distracting for the cast. Wearing her costume and stage microphone, she cautioned followers against filming in theatres, labeling the behavior selfish and damaging to the troupe’s morale. She emphasized that she keeps a close watch for such policy violations and will not hesitate to have disruptive guests escorted from the venue.

The production company, Royo, declined to offer further comments regarding the incident. Davies, known for her roles in shows like 9 to 5 and Pretty Woman, remains committed to the current tour despite a recent period of recovery from illness. This incident follows similar actions by other performers, such as Rosamund Pike, who recently reprimanded a theatre-goer for texting during a production in London’s West End.
