Adeniyi Adeyemi Refutes Hiding Claims, Cites Security Threats

Adeniyi Adeyemi denies evading the police, insisting his recent disappearance is a response to serious threats against his life as he pursues asylum in the US.

Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), asserts that he is not avoiding law enforcement despite his recent absence from the public eye. In a discussion with Channels Television, Adeyemi explained that his retreat is purely for safety reasons rather than an attempt to flee justice. He claimed to be the target of several threats against his life, though he provided no specific evidence or suspects.

This development follows a move by the US-based lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, to assist Adeyemi in obtaining political asylum and whistleblower protection. The firm’s leader, Dr. Von Batten, expressed belief in Adeyemi’s credibility and confirmed that the organization is briefing associates of US President Donald Trump and members of Congress regarding allegations Adeyemi has raised against Nigerian officials. The Nigerian government has previously dismissed the PFIPC as an illegitimate entity.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force has filed formal charges against Adeyemi, including forgery and impersonation. The case, registered as FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, alleges that he managed the unauthorized council from an office in the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja. Authorities are preparing to arraign him and two co-defendants at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
