Authorities in Abia State have taken Sarah Innocent into custody following the death of her husband. The incident occurred on Saturday night in Ohuru Ishimiri, located in the Obingwa local government area.
Family members noted that the couple had been married for eight months, having wed in December 2025. According to DSP Maureen Chinaka, the state police spokesperson, officers at the Ohuru Isimiri Divisional Headquarters received the report on August 9, 2026.
The police stated that Sarah Innocent used a kitchen knife to strike her husband in the chest during an argument. Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead upon his arrival at the hospital. Officials have since transported the body to a morgue for an autopsy. The State Criminal Investigation Department is actively processing the case while the suspect remains detained.
