Abayomi Arabambi, the Labour Party’s National Vice Chairman for the South-West, has issued a formal demand to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress. The claim stems from a podcast interview where Obi purportedly suggested that Arabambi lacks a legitimate physical address. Legal representatives for Arabambi—specifically Anderson U. Asemota, Peter O. Asimegbe, and Stanley C. Eziefulle of Neplus Ultra Attorneys—assert that these comments are malicious and intended to damage their client’s reputation.
The legal notice highlights that the broadcast of these remarks across various media channels has caused significant public humiliation for Arabambi. His attorneys reject the assertion, emphasizing that he has always maintained verifiable residential and business locations alongside established professional ties. Consequently, the legal team is demanding a full public apology via national television, social media platforms, and print media. Furthermore, they are seeking N50 billion in damages to address the harm inflicted upon his political standing and personal dignity, granting Obi a seven-day window to comply with these terms.
