Nigerian Official Yemisi Akintoye Selected for WAFCON 2026 Semi-Final

Nigerian referee Yemisi Akintoye will officiate the 2026 WAFCON semi-final match between Algeria and Malawi in Rabat tonight.

Yemisi Akintoye from Nigeria has been appointed to referee the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match between Algeria and Malawi. According to DAILY POST, the game will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, beginning at 6pm Nigerian time.

This appointment marks the second time Akintoye has refereed a match during the 2026 tournament. She previously oversaw the Group A fixture involving Senegal and Kenya at the same venue on July 30. Making her first appearance at this premier tournament, Akintoye also served as the fourth official for the opening game between Algeria and Kenya.

Separately, Vincentia Enyonam of Togo will officiate the other semi-final match, which pits Morocco against Cameroon. That game is scheduled to be played at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat with a 9pm Nigerian time kickoff.
