Harry Kane Claims England’s World Cup Scoring Record

Harry Kane has become England’s all-time leading World Cup scorer after netting his 11th career goal in the tournament during a 2-0 win against Panama.

Harry Kane has officially surpassed Gary Lineker to become England’s all-time leading scorer in World Cup history. The milestone occurred during Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Panama, where the England captain netted his 11th tournament goal with a precise header from a Jude Bellingham delivery.

Reflecting on the achievement, Kane described the moment as a source of great pride, acknowledging the World Cup as the pinnacle of professional football. His current tally of 11 goals moves him past Lineker, who held the previous record of 10. This performance marks another high point for the striker, who previously secured the Golden Boot in 2018.

In addition to this record, Kane is now one of only two English men, alongside David Beckham, to score in three separate World Cup tournaments. While Kane currently leads the English standings, he remains focused on chasing international legends. Lionel Messi holds the overall record with 18 goals, followed by Miroslav Klose with 16 and Brazilian Ronaldo with 15. Kane is currently closing in on Pele, who finished his career with 12 World Cup goals.
