Gunmen Abduct Two Students from Benue University

Suspected kidnappers abducted two students of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, Benue State, outside the university’s campus on Tuesday night, February 25.

Reports indicate that the students were ambushed by the assailants outside the school premises and taken to an unknown location. However, some students claim that four of their colleagues were abducted.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Sewuese Anene, stated that the report received by the command indicated that two, not four, students were abducted.

“We received the information yesterday evening that two students were kidnapped. We have commenced an investigation, and further details will be provided soon” Anene said.
