Burkina Faso established dominance early, netting three goals inside the first 15 minutes of play. Despite attempts by coach Abdu Maikaba’s squad to regain momentum after halftime, they could not overcome the early deficit. Burkina Faso secured a fourth goal, while Nigeria managed only a single consolation score. This defeat mirrored a previous 2-0 group-stage loss, denying Nigeria the chance for redemption.
While Nigeria reached the final by narrowly defeating Côte d’Ivoire via a penalty shootout, Burkina Faso entered the match undefeated after eliminating Niger. With this victory, the Young Stallions claimed the regional title and an automatic spot in the 2027 U-20 AFCON.
