All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to center his administration around youth empowerment. During an interactive session at the Adolak Event Centre in Osogbo, Oyebamiji stated that he plans to utilize the creative and sports industries to foster development and ensure young people are included in government processes.
The event, hosted by the APC campaign council’s Directorate of Youths and Students, allowed various groups, including students and professionals, to discuss the candidate’s Prosperity Agenda. Oyebamiji emphasized his confidence in the upcoming August 15 election, citing extensive engagement across all 30 local government areas as proof of his understanding of the public’s needs.
Focusing on the economic potential of athletics, the candidate proposed regional collaboration among governors in the Southwest to establish a high-quality sports club network. Meanwhile, Planning Committee Chairman Kehinde Ayantunji criticized the current administration for failing to maintain sports infrastructure, claiming it has hindered youth productivity.
Lead discussant Dr. Lekan Olatunji noted that the Prosperity Agenda was co-created with input from young citizens, focusing on skill acquisition, entrepreneurship, technology, and agriculture. Event Chairman Eng. Olamilekan Badmus concluded by calling on the youth to support Oyebamiji’s candidacy to ensure future economic prosperity.
