Sekinat Oyebamiji, spouse of the All Progressives Congress governorship hopeful in Osun State, Asiwaju Oyebamiji, faced an ambush on her convoy within the Ede South Local Government Area. The incident took place this past Sunday evening following a campaign event held at Alajue Ward 2. Mrs. Oyebamiji had been engaging with local residents and party members to prepare for the upcoming state election scheduled for August 15.
During this engagement, she was joined by Princess Bukola Adereti, the wife of the APC deputy governorship candidate, Alhaji Kayode Adereti. Approximately 15 attackers struck around 7 p.m. as the group was departing the location. While both women managed to flee the scene unharmed, one individual traveling with the group suffered significant injuries. This person, identified as the chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers for the Sekona Branch, sustained a major head wound and required immediate medical care.
