Ogun ADC Gubernatorial Candidate Ogundipe Criticizes Leaders’ Handling of Insecurity

Dr. Biodun Collins Ogundipe, the ADC candidate for Ogun State, argues that poor leadership is the root cause of Nigeria’s insecurity and outlines his technology-driven plan to revitalize the economy and eliminate graduate unemployment.

Dr. Biodun Collins Ogundipe, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, asserts that current Nigerian leaders lack the necessary expertise to resolve the nation’s escalating security challenges. He argues that the prevailing crisis is a direct result of leadership incompetence.

During the BCO Unemployed Graduates Convergence in Abeokuta, Ogundipe proposed that integrating intelligence and technology-based solutions could significantly reduce insecurity in Ogun. He emphasized that persistent threats have crippled economic progress, forcing local farmers, business owners, and healthcare workers to operate in a climate of fear.

Ogundipe claims his background in developing security architecture for multinational firms would allow him to secure Ogun State within one year. He intends to prioritize safety to restore public confidence, enabling a 24-hour economy similar to parts of Lagos. His strategy includes fostering growth in sectors like agriculture, commerce, and education, which are currently suffering from widespread kidnapping concerns.

Regarding youth unemployment, the candidate pledged that no graduate in the state would remain jobless two years into his tenure, promising to resign if he fails to meet this target. He also introduced his “Ogun One Economy” development plan, a research-backed framework focusing on industrial, technological, and infrastructure growth. Ogundipe is currently engaging with international investors to bring major projects, such as a deep seaport, to the region.

He urged the youth to reject politicians who have failed to improve their standard of living and instead support candidates with proven competence, integrity, and global experience. During the event, committee chairman Olumide Onabajo and former local government official Wale Adebayo highlighted the importance of digital skills, encouraging graduates to seek opportunities in fintech, software development, and vocational trades to achieve economic independence.
