Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza of Kebbi High Court Released From Captivity

Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, a Kebbi High Court judge kidnapped last week, has returned home safely following his release from captivity.

Hon. Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, a High Court judge in Kebbi State who was kidnapped seven days ago, has been freed and has successfully returned to his residence.

A family spokesperson verified his release on Monday, noting that the judge arrived home earlier in the day. The relative expressed deep relief, stating that the family is thankful to God for his safe homecoming following a week in the custody of his abductors.

The family extended their gratitude to the Kebbi State Judiciary, local security services, and the residents of Kebbi State for their prayers, messages of comfort, and support throughout the difficult period. While the family confirmed the release, they noted that specific details regarding how he was freed would be shared at a later time.

As of now, neither the Kebbi State Judiciary nor local security authorities have issued formal comments on the matter. The judge’s kidnapping previously sparked significant alarm throughout the state, leading to urgent demands for his secure release.
